When a young man is bullied, he finds a supernatural protector that comes from dead tinder and leaves. “The Birch” is a creepy short film with first-rate creature effects, directed by Ben Franklin and Anthony Melton. The monster was made by Cliff Wallace, and it’s something that makes a memorable impact when she finally arrives and brings mayhem.
