Sightings of a ghastly ghoul-like figure dubbed The Rake have been associated with creepypasta for a number of years. Photos of the creature have even been reported on the news, but nothing that could be viewed as hard evidence has emerged so far.
Still, the unsettling tale of a creature with long talons that can enter houses at night gives storytellers plenty of nightmare fuel to work with. Shun Otsubo and his Go For Broke team used the foundation of The Rake creepypasta to produce a short film starring the monster and an unlucky family.
