Inside a remote arctic scientific outpost, a deadly experiment has run amok. Infected test subjects are hunting down the base survivors one-by-one. Fearing that they are the only remaining survivors, a male scientist and a female military officer devise a plan to escape from their frigid trap. With time running short, and their defenses starting to buckle and fall, the scientist needs to take a desperate gamble to try and survive.
This is the setting of “The Storm”, a 12-minute short horror film that premiered at Screamfest 2013. Directed and written by Andree Leblanc, “The Storm” mixes up the atmosphere of “The Thing” and “28 Days Later” to achieve its icy horror feel.
